Frosty

Frosty                                       3/22/2016

The bear awakes from sleep
Shrugging off centuries of slumber
Rubbing his eyes
And shaking off the dust.

It has been a long winter
And it has been a long sleep
But outside the landscape has changed
The snow melted
And coursing down the stream.

What was peaceful
Is now full of fear
Infiltrated, corrupted
Rotted, and soft.

Blown apart
The pieces ooze
Nothing but corpses
Silent and slaughtered.

Undefended and unprotected
The guinea pigs of suicide
As the greatest legacy of man
Is doomed by the foolish
And forgetful.

A thousand years or more
We have forgotten the truth
About how hard it was
To defend and preserve.

Inch by inch
It was fought
The light was preserved
And darkness defeated.

But the battlefield of the mind
Is another thing all together
As we double think ourselves
Into false guilt
And doubt.

Evil burrows in
And twists our perception
Exploiting every good intention
In every way he can.

But now we know
And now the truth is evident
Strewn all over the street
All we loved
And cherished.

Woe to him
Who lies about it now
Lulling many to sleep
With the same old song.

Let the bear loose
And let him charge
Unstoppable
And unshakable.

A long time coming
The awakened giant
Still bleeding
And barely breathing.

Rouse yourself
And do what you can
Frosty as ice
For those
Who cannot speak.

Claws and teeth
Fangs and strength
For God created some
To give it their all.

Storming out
Of every last bastion
The fierce truth
Indomitable
And immortal.
