Tell Tale

Tell Tale                                         10/5/2015

Silence can tell you everything
And the absence of truth
Gives everything away
The obvious reality
Hidden in plain sight.

We are programmed to die
And lay down like sheep
Groveling with apologies
For no reason at all.

The hammer falls
And we cower in a corner
Unprepared to confront
The enemy in our bed.

Lulled to sleep
With commercialism
And vanity
The socially dependent
Will trust without suspicion.

Woe to those
Who do not pay attention
Believing everything
And doing nothing.

Wasted away
Dried out and empty
Crumbling from the inside out
And dissolved into dust.

We didn’t listen
And we didn’t see
Choosing to hide
And choosing to run.

Nobody has forever
And he who lives
Had better decide
Because you must believe
Before you can know.

Hold on to truth
Because all else will fail
Bigger than shame
And stronger than death.

Feel the burning embers
Falling down like flames
And pulsating with our hearts
The eternal gift
No man can lose.

Light from darkness
And life from death
More than enough
Right here
And right now.
