Creepy crawler

Creepy Crawler                                                          12/4/2015

Slip, trip, and fall
We either learn to walk
Or lay back down
And crawl.

Risking neither
Bump nor bruise
Safe, satisfied
Dull and dumb.

I did not know to ask
So I sat on my hands
Wasting my time
And dying every day.

Worry kills
And fear saps our strength
Weakening the spirit
One doubt at a time.

Right now
And right next door
The world teeters on madness
All because
We will not see.

The poles have shifted
And institutions crumble
Imploding and dissolving
Outside in
And inside out.

The kingdom long since
Tilted over
Tumbled upside down
Where right is wrong
And wrong is right.

Unraveling before our eyes
Every platitude and foolish assumption
Knotted up like a pretzel
In relativistic lies.

The past is over
And words are only words
No matter what we think
Or what we say.

The truth
And the heart
Matter more
Because whatever we do
We become.
