The shadows move, across the land

Darkening the earth

In the middle of the day

Our faces ashen

Under the sun.

It is not new

And it is not an accident

Because every horror

Is carefully planned.

Revenge takes injury

But hatred needs not truth

Finding comfort in lies

And mindless projection.

The innocent

Are often purged

Cut down for nothing

And mocked in death.

Vilified for their integrity

And hunted for their loyalty

The hated today

The same as yesterday.

The truth is hidden

But yet it remains

As plain as day,

But only if you look

And think.

Fools cannot change

And refuse all logic

Giving in

And giving up. 

But the good

Must love reason

If they are to learn

And grow. 

                       

A guiding light

When the skies grow dim

The faith of the humble

And courageous.                                                  

Even in the darkest night

He shall be our torch

A pillar of fire

Showing us the way

Even through betrayal 

And wilderness.

The shadows gather

And deceit rules the earth

But he who follows the light

Shall shine forever.
