Plastic Pizza

Plastic Pizza                         9/19/2016

You can take a bite
But it won’t fill your stomach
Nothing but grinding on air
In a pit of nothingness.

Such is life
In a land of plastic pizzas
An empty pill capsule
Lulling us to sleep.

There is no freedom
And there is no sustenance
Not for the honest
And not for the good.

Waiting in line
And waiting at the chute
Shocked and prodded
On our way to the end.

Liars will always lie
And thieves will always hide
Cutting deep
And running away.

Hiding in the darkness
And trading favors for money
Crushing every obstacle
Merciless and cruel.

Some fly high
And some go easy
Smiling on television
Rich and dumb.

Protected and smug
They who lie for a living
Sleeping in their castles
Protected and numb.

Far off they live
In a world of make believe
Where good is bad
And darkness is light.

Raising up their fists
Full of hate and bile
The empty headed fools
Over paid and overfed.

Cut them loose
And let them fall
Gnashing and moaning
To no one at all.

Stewing in their hatred
And crisping in the sun
In the mangled remains
Of certain destruction.

We are not the same
And even now
We change
More and more
Ready and willing.

Looking ahead
And looking over
Awakened
And determined.
