Swarming

The Swarm                         4/18/2017

Armies move like locusts
Consuming everything
As they move
Nothing new
And nothing worse.

They fought
And they pillaged
Sacking the cities
Murdering many
Just because they could.

Untold numbers
Raped by the swarm
As they looted
And burned.

What was
Always comes again
All because we forgot
And all because
We were deluded.

By boat
And by plane
Under walls
And over fences.

The pestilence arrives
Welcomed by the dumb
With open arms
And cash in hand.

Fools of the day
And prey by the night
The fodder of ages
Undefended
And unloved.

To whom does it profit
And to whom does it belong
The curse of hatred
Long held
And suddenly unleashed.

The gatekeepers killed
And divided by strife
All of it on purpose
And all of it by design.

Woe to us all
Hidden in dreams
That we ignore the obvious
Over and over again.

Slouching forward
And stumbling in circles
Without resolve
Or courage.

Sold out for nothing
The paid never see
And never act
Selling you
And selling me.

God lives
And so also will we
Even in the darkest night
And hopelessly outnumbered.

Death has no power
And it is broken at last
Forever defeated
By Christ.

Be not deceived
And be on discouraged
For victory shall come
In just only an hour.
