Belly of the Beast

Belly of the Beast                     11/28/2018

A metal fish
Sardines in a can
Inching down a freeway
Packed in sweat.

Another day down
Slow as a slug
Dragging us along
Crippled by isolation.

Three decades
In the belly
Of the beast
Diving deep,
Dark and dumb.

Trapped in concrete
With two sets of rules
One for them
And one for us.

Time crawls
And time flies
Some above
And many below.

And who are we
The ancient
And the forgotten
Long ago lost
And wandering.

Atomized
Across distance
We suffer in silence
Always searching
But seldom found.

Alone in the world
Of half truths
And deliberate lies
Dumbing us down
Sheep for the slaughter.

I also
Followed the path
Hated by true enemies
But cut in half
By false friends.

Nothing lasts forever
Inching ever closer
To what has already happened
Written in our hearts
The beginning
And the end.

Two Fourteen

Two Fourteen              11/14/2018

Some talk of love
But do they even know
What it is
Another day down
Water under the bridge.

For some
It is an option
Interchangeable as clothing
Worn for just a season.

And for many
It is the path
Of least resistance
Giving up
And giving in.

But some of us
Knew form the start
Lucky enough
With parents and family.

Real love endures
And real love hangs on
Fiercely loyal
Even when angry
And overburdened.

Patient under trial
Even when exhausted
Discerning truth
From lies
And good
From evil.

A gift
And a treasure
More important
Than money
The pearl of great value
Hidden in the dirt.

I have known love
And I have known
Rejection
But woe to him
Who hurts
The humble.

And cursed is he
Who disrespects
The loving
For he shall surely
Die twice.

Red Flag

Red Flag              11/13/2018

Everything is fake
And none of it is real
Whatever they promote
Or try to conceal.

Another day
And another distraction
As we slouch
Towards Armageddon
Mumbling in the dark.

Mortally wounded
By our own kindness
Bleeding a trail
Downward fast.

We forgot
Who we were
And we forgot
Who we serve.

Nameless soldiers
In a war against ourselves
Picked off at will
One by one.

Happily dropping down
Curled in a fetal
Begging to be stomped
In eventual extermination.

Now we see
In the eleventh hour
The culmination of lies
And treasonous deceit.

The same old wailing
And the same old lies
Relentless fraud
And obvious hate.

Now or never
We must answer the call
Better on your feet
Than begging
On your knees.

The silent war rages
One sided and deadly
Blood drawn
Bodies down.

Insatiable the evil
Gnawing at our corpse
Ever wandering
For a soul to steal.

Come quickly Lord
And listen to our cry
Waiting in the trenches
To jump and to die.

Now they mock
And now they laugh
More loyal to each other
Than the people
That they rule.

Deep down
In the core
The pretenders
To the faith
Damned to death
The second time around.

The same now as then
The heap praise upon themselves
Until the tables turn over
And the whole world knows.

Horror upon horror
Visited upon the innocent
All for a parasitic class
Bleeding the world.

They shall all fall
And they shall all burn
Every lie counted
And every murder
Avenged.
