Lattice

Lattice                             11/16/2017

Against all the odds
Of eternity
I am here
An insurmountable
Improbability
Of endless combinations.

But here we are
And, we are
Most certainly
Not an accident
Or a mistake.

Unlikely as can be
But not because
We earned it
And not because
We deserve it.

It was in a dream
That he took my hand
And Lifting me up
Underneath his wings.

Plucking me out
Of all that I knew
So that I could learn
And grow.

I asked
And I accepted
But I still
Did not know
Much less understand.

I had not yet
Felt the dagger
And I had not yet
Tasted blood.

Long before
The fevered nights
Shivering under
A black blanket
High above a dark abyss.

But how can anyone
Be sure
Until they also
Have suffered
Betrayal and cruelty
Humiliation and shame.

But it is that same suffering
That awakens the soul
The most misunderstood gift
And priceless treasure.

Liars multiply
When threatened
And a wounded animal
Is a vicious killer.

If only
It were ignorance
Then the innocent
Could learn
But what we face
If far worse
Than blindness.

Hating babies
And laughing
At the dying
Dreaming of murder
For you and for me.

The tide is high
And the fruit is low
Heavily laden
With death
And deception.

Ripening in the sun
The world shudders
Under the weight
Of sin, Satan
Corruption, and lies.

Not a minute late
And not a second too soon
The inevitable end
Already written
And already done.

Triple Hung

Triple Hung           11/9/2017

Each and every
Any and all
Not country for the hated
Surrounded, atomized
The few and the dead.

All of it on purpose
And all of it by design
To close every mouth
And bend every neck.

More than willing
To sacrifice millions
Stacked on the ash heap
Of collectivist horror.

With blood and leather
And mechanized death
The broken cogs
Are the end
Of the nightmare.

Those who lie
Will never tell the truth
Doubled over
And doubled down
Up to their necks
In evil.

The who serve
Satan
Seek a perversion of justice
The kind spawned by violence
And guttural hatred.

See them jump
And see them scream
Exploding with rage
And outlandish accusations.

The window is closing
But the door is about to open
As the astounding truth emerges
Worse than we ever knew.

Watch yourself
And watch your family
Lest any of us be savaged
By wounded beast
Cornered and deadly.

If we never

If we never               11/1/2017

If you haven’t been forgotten
Then how can you ever
Truly remember?
What it feels like to try
And what it feels like to lose.

If you were never a friend
Then you might not remember
What it feels like to be betrayed
And die in the rain.

And If I had not truly loved
With all of my heart
Then I would still be blind
Never once broken
And gasping for breath.

And we had not been poor
The we could never be rich
With holes in our heels
And holes in our teeth.

And how could I forgive
If I had never been accused
Watched for every flaw
And savaged with lies.

If you have never robbed
Then it is hard to receive
The undeserved blessing
Of glorious contentment.

To know a true victory
Then you must also
Know defeat
The bitter agony of loss
And drowning in blood.

And if a man should grow
Then he must also pay
Either now or later
The debt of his errors
Through humility and truth.

For nothing is worse
Than to win by deceit
Further and further away
From introspection
And shame.

Coddled at every point
As only the weak receive
The masters of manipulation
And swindling greed.

With never any use
For questioning or forgiveness
Giving only to receive
And loving only to steal.

Rewarded for evil
And persistently duplicitous
The swindler will keep swindling
Until the very end.

Let them go on
And let them go deep
Pulling at the slack
For all that they can.

Farther and farther from you
And farther and farther from me
Blind to God
Fully guilty
And doubly dead
