Torch Light

Torch Light    11/18/2014

Right in front of your eyes
The biggest lie ever told
Because nothing is broken
If it never existed at all.

Anything goes
And everything’s negotiable
Yes even right and wrong
If you are dumb
And will not see.

Timing is everything
And the wolf knows it well
Carefully stalking his prey
Behind spun wool.

It’s always been true
That you had better watch out
Because there is always someone
Licking his lips.

It’s all about to come together
The careful unraveling of time
As pointers move
One tick at a time.

But even the best laid plans
Cannot control God
And there is always a way
For he who will pray.

The match lights the fuse
And the fireworks explode
But it’s only a show
To get us to jump.

The right hand moves
But it’s the left we miss
Carefully positioning the knife
Straight into our back.

Money and possessions
Can be taken at will
And so can our freedom
If we be mute
And compliant.

But God will provide
And bless the good
No matter what is done
Or what is taken.

We shall be protected
And we shall yet prosper
Even while the wicked rot
With all their money
And all their help.

Older

Older  11/17/2014

I thought I knew it all
But I didn’t know a thing
But that was before
And this is now.

It is a long walk
And every street looks the same
Cold, gray and wet
Tense, threatening and empty.

It is easy to imagine
But much harder to handle
When you are all alone
And empty handed.

I should have known better
That I was ripe for the fall
Because that is what happens
When you ask to know.

But what was meant to kill
Has given me life
As I rise up, to try
Again and again.

I lost my mother
And I lost my father
I lost my house
And I lost my car

I lost my love
And I became as stranger
To the child
I had raised
As one of my own.

My son was shot
And nearly killed
But there was nothing I could do
A thousand miles away.

All the things I counted on
Were swept away
Pulled out under my feet
And throwing me head over heels.

Turned over like a scorpion
And thrown through the air
Until I could barely breathe
And thought I would die.

But in surviving
We all should learn something
That there is more
Than what we see
And what we have
Is nothing at all.

We will never keep a thing
Except who we are
And how we have lived
But that is forever
So we must do it right.

Kick the pin
And let it all fall down
Because in the end
The good will live
No matter what is taken
And what is left.

Dilution

The Formula

Overspent, overloaded
And heavily indebted
All to a future
That no one can pay.

We are a prostrate patient
With tubes going in
And tubes coming out
Weakened by burdens
We never asked to assume.

But the poison comes anyway
Injected directly into our veins
Designed to overwhelm
And suppress.

The final dilution is here
And it should come
As no surprise
Because this also was foreseen
Many centuries before.

We forget,
And we do not listen
As we whistle past the graveyard
On our way to the end.

Unwilling to confront
And afraid of fools
Who have long bullied
With lies
And persecution.

But even our life support
Shall be rationed
And denied
All because of hatred
And imaginary privilege.

Welcome to the end
So come, sit down and watch
As it all comes unraveled
And kills on cue.

Go ahead and lie
And go ahead and argue
But this ship was built to sink
And that is what they wanted.

Diluted and disenfranchised
We are betrayed by our own
As the needle sinks in
And the plunger goes down.

Dead by a thousand cuts
Added up over time
As we are waited out
Until we are weak
And few.

All for nothing
But a promise
That’s already been broken
A thousand times before.

If they will do it to one
They will do it to many
As we swallow it all
And become what we fear.

The horror unfolds
But who can see the reasons
As obvious as the sun
Burning in the sky.

We each have a part
And we each have a soul
As I pray for protection
And provision.

There is nothing I have
That cannot be lost
But if we can survive
Then, that is all that matters.

Evil is changeless
And smiles only,
To buy time
Regrouping every night
To murder, rape and steal.

Wait not
To lay on a table
But rather act now
No matter what is lost.

God restores
And God heals
Giving us back
More than enough.

He will multiply the good
Even against, impossible odds
And the greatest victory
Shall go to the faithful
Who have given their all
Without hesitation.

Dragon Slayer

Dragon Slayer    11/12/2014

The smallest of flaws
Can lead to the greatest discovery
But only with creativity
And ingenuity.

And God himself
Has used a few
To crush the many
For those he loves
And saves.

Today the few,
Are empty handed
As they try and hold the line
Against a numberless onslaught.

Betrayed, handcuffed,
And weighted with burdens
The innocent are targeted
All because of hatred
And jealousy.

We are not misunderstood
And we are not guilty
But only hated,
Because we are good
And blessed.

Blindfolded, and manipulated
By smoke, mirrors, and explosions
So that we can only see the tip
Poking out of the water.

But the destroyer lurks
Beneath the surface
Drawing us near
To suffocate and strangle
While we are unaware
And asleep.

Stalking like a serpent
And waiting in the bush
Unable to survive
Without stealing
Or killing.

But even death
Will destroy itself
Engulfed in its own hatred
And burning forever.

Even now
It lashes out in all directions
Seeking to punish all it hates
In a burning spasm of rage.

The darkness will turn to light
But not until its time
As the beasts consume themselves
All the way to the end.

He who seeks to destroy
Will be destroyed
And he who loves and protects
Will inherit all.

What seems inevitable
Is nothing but an allusion
As the good shall survive
As the greatest armies perish.

The dragon still dies
And chokes on its tail
No matter what is said
And what is done.

Remember this
When the walls fall
Remaining faithful
In day and night.

For he who stands now
And perseveres then
Will live
Even if, he dies.

Hand over Hand 11/10/2014

Hand over Hand 11/10/2014

There are things
We still cannot grasp
Such as the mystery
Of Birth, life, and death.

What secrets others keep
Remain as riddles
That we have to decipher
After the fact.

In the deepest black
Much is known
But we remain in the dark
And manipulated by fear.

Others play games
With life and death
Moving us, across a chessboard
Without a thought or care.

But they squander the gift
And are destined to lose
Defeated by an unseen hand
Swift and silent.

Point by point
The cruel rule the day
Methodically attacking
All who they hate.

Pounding the nails
And digging the ditch
In hopes of persecution
And genocide.

But it is they who will perish
And leave nothing behind
The same thing that always was
Before and after.

The cat in the box
Lives and dies
But so also do we
In another place and time.

I reach out my hands
And pull myself back
Following the silver chord backwards
Hand over hand.

The crown belongs to the worthy
And life is for the living
A gift for the good
Regardless of loss.
