Revulsion

Revulsion 11/7/2014

Eleven seven fourteen
The paradox is open
And there is no shutting it now
Spreading like a wildfire
And mutating like a virus.

A phony war
And a phony flag
All made up for show
But only a fool can deny
What everyone should know.

But the truth is in the folds
Perfectly creased
Because that is what its for
To chew up the good
All boxed up and sold.

Staged like a vignette
And lighted on cue
Because its all about image
And never about the truth.

Murder, assault, and rape
Because the horror is here
Boiling and bubbling over,
Everywhere.

The medics weep
At what they see
As torture and death
Explode across the land.

Evil has come
But its time is short
So it must spend its fury
In every way it can.

Today I work
And tonight I go home
To hold my family close
And love them
With all my strength.

Now is a time to pray
And do so with all your heart
Asking for provision, protection,
And grace.

Ignition

Trickle Trickle  11/6/2014

There is always somebody
Who will light the fuse
So full of themselves
That they never learn
Or grow.

A good man will compromise
And question himself
But evil only hates
And destroys.

It’s easy to spot
And difficult to miss
But sometimes they hide themselves
Behind the naive
And the foolish.

Hiding their true form
Until it’s too late
And they are close enough
To strike
From below or behind.

Slippery slime is hard to hold
And it oozes between your fingers
Dripping on the floor
Disassembling in order to escape
Only to assemble again.

They circle the wagons
And will say anything to survive
All they while stalling for time
As ignorance spreads
Like germs.

For them, there is no logic
And there is no reason
Only a deep and vile hatred
Bubbling and seething.

The math will  always equal
What they want
And the sum is meaningless
To the putrid
And the vile.

Slithering around their belly
All they desire is power
By any means necessary
Including extortion and murder.

But nothing lasts forever
And neither will they
Just dead men
Covered with skin.

Even now they meet
And form the circle
Calculating subterfuge,
Misery, and invasion.

The fury will be spent
And the tide shall come
But even this,
Is already over
Predicted, filed, and done.

Betrayal is not new
And murder is as old as man
Born of jealousy
Over innocence
And light.

The prophets were murdered
But how many were silenced
Over threat?
Buried by time
Obedient and cowed.

Appearance can deceive
But the truth exposes all
When the covers are ripped off
What will God find?

Fireball

Fireball 11/5/2014

No candle lasts forever
And neither do we
At least not as we are
In the here
And now.

But we arise
And we speak for a reason
So we can either eat it up
Or watch it rot.

Drink down, the cup fully
And let the juices
Run down your neck
Because this is a time to live boldly
And never look back.

Streak like a fireball across the sky
Flaming, as it burns up
Furiously shedding sparks
High above our heads.

There is a time for everything
Like gunning the engine
In a fast car
On a deserted road.

Surging forward
And burying the needle sideways
As the leaves
Scatter behind.

The parties end
And then the masks come off
And so it is, with us
Right here, and now.

The true face comes out
Contorted with rage
As evil burns out of control
Consuming everything it can.

Unmasked, we all are
And now, is the time to decide
What it is, that matters
And what it is,
That is right.

Mash Up

Mash Up 11/4/2014

Every day
And in every way
We either descend into madness
Or channel it
Into something else.

The urge to live
Is imprinted in our brains
As must as anything else
We fight
To survive.

It’s good to be thankful
But we have bitten the apple
So now we see
And must decide.

But even the worst of things
Can lead to something good
But only if we know to ask
And be not afraid.

The sameness of today
Does not end
Unless it is interrupted by good
Or bad.

Suddenly the world can change
Or it came come unglued
But either way
As long as we live
We still must choose.

I tried to stay away
And I tried to pull up the covers
But something inside would not let me give up
And would not let me die.

It was dark
But someone switched on the light
Awakening something sleeping inside
Dormant and dumb.

But now that our eyes are opened
There is no excuse
But only just enough grace
To get us through.

It’s easy to get lost
And it’s easy to get distracted
Chasing after shiny objects
Until we can’t go on.

Wasting our energy
And depleting our soul
We fall helpless and frail
Without learning at all.

A fool should have seen it coming
But I never noticed a thing
As I let the current carry me
Wherever it wanted to go.

The day I started to stand
Was the day I began to lose
As one thing after another
Battered me from every direction.

If I lose
I can still win
As long as I know
And remember.

But when it counts
We will endure
Even if we lose it all
We gain everything.

All comes in due time
When even us flightless birds
Soar in the heavens
Here, there, and everywhere.

We will yet have the feast
That has always been so elusive
As we dine forever
Commiserating, learning and sharing
All that was and so much more.

As human as we are
Our essence can be tracked backwards
From invisible parts
And we will live
Even if we die.

Aberrant

Aberrant  11/4/2014

Perhaps its accidental
Or perhaps it’s something else
That we each unique
And one of a kind.

We are constructed in darkness
From pieces
Too small to see
And we remain a mystery
Even to ourselves.

We remember in part
But God has keeps many secrets
Protecting us
Until all of it,
Is done.

I was drunk
And I was stoned
Dead unto myself
And a waste unto the world.

I sat at a table
And let my mind drift
Watching people disappear
Coming and going
For God knows what.

My friend left for the bathroom
But I knew what he was doing
As awareness returned
With dread and pain.

We are afraid of reality
And what we might find
But it hurts less, than we think
Because nothing hurts more
Than running away.

But no matter how far you run
The nightmares return
And what worked once
Is not enough now
As the guilt and fear
Drive you insane.

Something happened
And I am not the same person
That I was then
As an invisible switch
Flicked on in the night.

There is no explanation
And we all remain
One step away from oblivion
Fragile on the outside
And indestructible within.

So there must be reason
For this slippery moment
As it squirms and wiggles
Out of our hands.

We can try and forget
But in the end
It is impossible
As it burns a pathway
Across our brains.

The experiences and memories
Are apart of me
And I have become a part of them
Each one a part of the whole
Living for each other
In an organism
We cannot control.

Everybody is looking for something
And they might be looking for you
Crawling like spiders
In and out
And everywhere.

Some men seek to protect
But others seek to control
No matter who it hurts
Without a conscience
And without a soul.

But for us
It’s not about being better
And it’s not about being worse
But all about standing apart
And living beyond.
